On Wednesday at an online symposium called 'Vietnam–ASEAN: 25-year Journey and the Way Forward,'' Mr. Minh said ASEAN has become a family of Southeast Asian nations that Vietnam is honored to be a member of.

“Over the years, Vietnam has served as an active and responsible member in the bloc’s development, including the implementation of the ASEAN-10 and ASEAN Community, building the ASEAN Charter, and promoting ASEAN’s central and international status. Vietnam treasures the support from our brother countries and strives to be a responsible and proactive member of ASEAN,” Minh said.

Mr. Minh said the mutual understanding and strategic trust ASEAN has created over the decades will continue to serve as an important foundation for member states to boost win-win co-operation and dialogue to form a peaceful and favorable environment for sustainable development in the region.

The symposium was attended by ASEAN Secretary-General Lim Jock Hoi, former ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh, former Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, and Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office of Laos Bounkert Sangsomsak.
