(VOVworld)- The 13th ASEAN Forum on Coal (AFOC 13) opened Thursday in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province. Participants exchanged information about their domestic coal industries and discuss ways to balance supply and demand in the region, clean coal technology, environmental concerns, ways to improve coal quality, cooperation between the AFOC and regional partners, and cooperation orientations within the bloc.
The AFOC is an annual activity within the ASEAN energy cooperation framework. AFOC 13’s outcomes will be submitted to the ASEAN Ministers of Energy Meeting, one of the main activities of the 2016 - 2020 ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC).
