South East Asia is endowed with the richest biodiversity in the world but it’s being threatened by illegal exploitation and trade. Vietnam’s government, the ASEAN Enforcement Network, and domestic and foreign preservation teams initiated many campaigns to raise public awareness about the prevention of illegal wild animal trafficking. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam said: "Most of the nations in the bloc are developing nations that have limited personnel, resources and finances. Therefore, the support from international organizations is essential to promote ASEAN’s role in the development of member countries and other Asian nations"

This year workshop fostered the collaboration of regional countries and the world to tackle the animal exploitation and trade.
