The session was chaired by Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al-Thani.
On the sidelines of the event, Foreign Minister-level meetings were conducted between GCC countries and Egypt, Morocco, and Jordan to bolster cooperation and address pressing matters pertaining to the situation in the Gaza Strip.
During these discussions, the GCC foreign ministers emphasized the urgency of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and safe passage for the delivery of food and medical aid to the Palestinians. They deliberated on initiatives to prevent infringements of international law, particularly humanitarian law, in the Gaza Strip, and to support the peace process to safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
