The comments, in an interview broadcast on Egyptian television station, were the clearest indication yet there was no prospect for political reconciliation with the Islamist group. Al-Sisi said that there will be nothing called the Muslim Brotherhood during his tenure. The Brotherhood was the strongest political force in Egypt before the last July Egyptian coup d'état, which ousted President Mohamed Morsi's.

Al-Sisi said that he decided to run for presidency to save Egypt from all threats, and stressed that last July coup d'état is not part of the plan to seize power. He accused the Brotherhood of links to violent militant groups, and committed to top prioritize restoring peace and developing economy in Egypt as well as all necessary measures needed to protect the country including keeping the debating protest Law. He also denied being a candidate of military and said that army will not rule Egypt if he is elected.
