The initiative stresses the principle of not accepting any changes against the Niger constitutional order and resolving the Niger crisis in a peaceful way and avoid resorting to any military intervention.

Last week, Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf visited Nigeria, Ghana and Benin, members of the Economic Community of Western African States (ECOWAS), to discuss a peaceful solution to the conflict in Niger.

According to Aljazeera TV, the Niger junta cut off water and electricity to the French Embassy in the capital Niamey to force the French ambassador Sylvain Itte to “leave Nigerien territory” which expired on Sunday, 27 August. Security is tightened outside French Embassy in Niger.

Niger's ousted President Mohamed Bazoum is still in good health while being kept in the presidential palace in Niamey, according to his consultant.
