He said the Council of Ministers had made a decision with immediate effect on terminating diplomatic relations with Iran and sent a note to the Iranian Embassy. All embassy staff, including diplomatic and security personnel, were ordered to leave Albania within 24 hours.

On Wednesday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling Albania’s decision a miscalculated and short-sighted measure in international relations.
