Vietnam Airlines will add three more aircraft this month, including Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner and two Airbus A320neo. The new fleet provides more than 100,000 additional seats and the airline's aircraft will total 103.
The Boeing 787-10 will serve domestic routes and Northeast Asia, while the Airbus A320neo focuses on domestic routes.
Vietjet Air will get three more planes this month and also lease six to ten short-term aircraft to serve peak demand.
Bamboo Airways and Vietravel Airlines both increased their fleets through wet lease to ensure enough seats for passengers during Tet. Bamboo Airways has added an Airbus A320, bringing the total number of its aircraft to eight.
According to the Vietnam Aviation Administration, airlines plan to provide more than five million tickets during Tet, including more than 2.5 million tickets from Vietnam Airlines and 2.6 million from Vietjet Air.
