The sector is making all-out efforts to achieve the 2025 target with comprehensive and sustainable results, reporters were told at the press conference.

The export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in October is estimated at 5.96 billion USD, raising the 10-month value in to more than 58 billion USD, an impressive figure in the wake of heavy rains in most of the northern and central regions. Asia continued to be Vietnam’s largest export market (44.7%), followed by the Americas (22.7%) and Europe (13.8%), with key markets including China, the US and Japan.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien emphasized solutions to achieve this year's goals, including export market flexibility amid the US tariffs and combating IUU fishing, which he said is the top priority.

“This year’s seafood exports will reach almost the same value of 2022, which is 11 billion USD. 1.82 billion USD of exports to the US market are pangasius, shrimp, tuna, among others. We are still in trade talks. On the other hand, the competent  forces are working hard to get the EC’s yellow card imposed on Vietnamese seafood exports lifted, which will open more doors to the European market,” Deputy Minister Tien added.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said it is actively implementing the Politburo ‘s Resolution 57 on science, technology and innovation, considering it a strategic breakthrough for green growth, improving productivity, and added value for agricultural products.
