(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Musicians Association on Friday introduced 70 new songs about Vietnam’s seas and islands.
The songs selected from hundreds of new compositions, depict patriotism, national pride as well as protests against China’s illegal deployment of oil rig Haiyang 981 in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone. Musician Cat Van, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, said: "The songs were written quickly in response to the seas and islands campaign. They feature our marine and air soldiers, and the latest ones are about the fisheries resources surveillance and marine police forces. The songs are composed and performed in a fresh new style".
In Dac Nong province, exchange programs between youth union members and young people regarding the country’s seas and islands were held on Thursday at agencies in Dac Nong province. Secretary of agencies’ Youth Union Bui Thi Kim Thu, said: "The programs aim to educate young people about trust in the leadership of the Party and State. The young people should show their patriotism through meaningful and practical activities".
