At the workshop co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, 40 presentations and opinions shed light on the personality and revolutionary career of Phan Van Khai from a patriotic teenager to a talented Party leader, and an outstanding leader of the Party and State of Vietnam.

He set an example of a steadfast communist, who wholeheartedly devoted to the country and the people, and a prominent figure of the Party Committee and Ho Chi Minh City.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Danh Tien, Director of the Institute of Party History, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, said, “Phan Van Khai made three outstanding contributions. First is leading the promotion of comprehensive socio-economic reform. When he was elected Prime Minister and addressed the 10th National Assembly session, he clearly stated the basic programs and tasks of the Government in the 1997-2002 term. Second is administrative reform. Third is directing foreign policy reform to elevate Vietnam's global position.”

The presentations highlighted Phan Van Khai as a leader with strategic thinking in foreign affairs; business development; and building a uniform and modern infrastructure system both economically and socially.
