(VOV) – A meeting to celebrate the 70th anniversary of battle of Stalingrad and 40th anniversary of the Paris Accords has been underway at the headquarters of Russia – Vietnam Friendship Association in Moscow.
According to the association, the meeting on Tuesday reviewed heroic traditions of Soviet Union people and soldiers, educated in patriotism for the younger generation and promoted mutual understanding between the two countries. Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son recalled the Soviet Union’s great victory on Stalingrad battlefield and sympathize with the loss that Russia suffered in its war against Fascism. Son said the anniversary will help the people, especially the youth of the two countries better understand the history and follow the tradition to foster friendship and comprehensive strategic relations between Vietnam and Russia.
