Parliamentarians observed a moment of silence to remember the victims. A prayer was held at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, with a screening of a memorial video for the 12 crew members who were lost. The international investigation team said it is completing its analysis, conclusions, and safety recommendations, and will release its final report on the missing flight within this year.
At a church service in Brisbane on Wednesday, Darren Chester, Australian Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, said he remains hopeful that the airplane will be found.
The Boeing 777 Malaysia Airlines commercial jet disappeared on 8 March 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It was carrying 239 passengers when it lost contact with air traffic controllers after leaving its scheduled route.
