| The ceremony to publish the 2019 White Paper on Vietnam National Defense is co-chaired by Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh and Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu, November 25, 2019.
The Paper explores Vietnamese defense strategy, defense policies, and the state of its all-people national defense, people’s army, and militia.
It advocates transparency of defense policies, which aim to enhance trust and understanding between Vietnam and other countries around the world while boosting cooperation to settle emerging security challenges for the sake of peace, stability, and development.
Given growing global and regional security challenges which have substantial effects on Vietnam, the Paper expresses Vietnam’s desire and determination to pursue peaceful measures in addressing disputes and differences among nations on the basis of international law.
In 2020, Vietnam’s Defense Ministry will host 20 ASEAN military-defense conferences and activities, which are regarded as the primary task of Vietnam’s defense diplomacy for the 2018-2020 period.
The Ministry has launched its website for the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting for 2020 at admm.vn or admm.org.vn, in both Vietnamese and English. The website details military-defense conferences and activities next year when Vietnam will become ASEAN Chair.
