The two sides discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation and effectively implement the Vietnam-EU agreement on establishing frameworks for Vietnam’s participation in addressing the EU’s crisis. Mr. Vinh urged the two sides to increase exchanges and share experience in defense and security. The EU reiterated its support for freedom, security and safety of navigation and aviation in the East Sea and praised Vietnam’s role in the Asia-Pacific region for peace and stability in the region and the world. At the EU Defense Command Meeting on Thursday, Deputy Minister Vinh expressed Vietnam’s concern about the EU’s training in Africa saying Vietnam is willing to cooperate with the EU as a responsible partner, particularly following the signing of the Vietnam-EU Framework Participation Agreement.
