During the meeting on Wednesday in Hanoi, the Deputy Prime Minister identified remaining issues affecting traffic safety on railways, waterways and roads. He called for immediate actions to resolve traffic problems along railways and obstructions on roads and pavements. The Deputy Prime Minister also attended a ceremony in Hanoi on Wednesday to launch the 2018 traffic safety year. He asked the National Traffic Safety Committee, ministries, and provinces to build up a safety culture in society and improve key traffic infrastructure to create employment opportunities and increase regional connectivity.    

The 2018 traffic safety year will focus on children with the motto “human life comes first.”
