(VOVworld) – A culture and tourism week honoring the terraced rice fields and the culture of ethnic groups in Ha Giang province opened in Hoang Su Phi district on Thursday.

The event honors local landscapes, historical and cultural sites, and traditional festivals, including the Quya Hieng festival of the Dao people in Ho Thau commune, the forest genie worship ritual of the Dao ethnic group in Po Lo commune, and the Gau Tao festival of the Mong ethnic group in Ba Peo commune.

A ceremony to announce the official recognition of the Quya Hieng festival as a national intangible cultural heritage will take place as part of the event.

Visitors will visit local rice fields and enjoy traditional cultural and sports activities such as horse dances, love duet singing, swinging, and goat fighting. A highlight of the festival will be a photo exhibit featuring scenes of daily life among the local residents.
