A festival of the Cor ethnic group of Quang Ngai province |
During the 3-day event, locals and visitors were treated to a variety of performances of 20 ethnic groups living in 13 provinces of Vietnam’s central region. 2,000 artists and athletes participated in folk singing and dancing and traditional games. The festival, which is held every 3 years, aims to preserve and promote ethnic identities of the central region amid national development and integration. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung, head of the Ethnic Culture Department, of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “The 3 day festival was successful. 13 provinces showcased the best features of their ethnic groups, including unique rituals. The festival showed the richness and diversity of ethnic culture of Vietnam.”
