Delegates warned of possible security threats in the city as 5500 computers were compromised last year, with 62% of attacks targeting state agencies. Vice Mayor Tran Vinh Tuyen said the city is to launch cyber security drills, training courses and establish a safe cyber space center: “We are numbed if confronted with cyber security incidents. If we have this center up and running, we could have systematic tool to help the city in cyber security protection and supervision in a synchronized IT infrastructure linked with the government.”
Vietnam expect to have 200 cyber security companies by 2020, who will play a crucial role in domestic information security to ensure a safe ecosystem of international competitiveness.
