The documents reaffirm the value and importance of Bandung principles, efforts to strengthen the Movement to contribute to global peace and security, and resolve to boost economic cooperation, arms disarmament, and UN reforms. NAM leaders praised ASEAN’s efforts to build the ASEAN Community for peace, stability and development, noted some ASEAN countries’ concern over the complicated situation in the East Sea, and called for peaceful settlement of disputes and respect for international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. The Vietnamese delegation to the summit was led Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.
