Da Nang seeks to double is testing capacity to 20,000 a day. |
Tests have been performed at five local medical establishments: the Da Nang Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), Da Nang Hospital, Da Nang Hospital for Lung Diseases, Military Hospital 17, and Hospital 119 under the Ministry of Public Security.
The city is capable of conducting 10,000 tests a day and is requesting the Ministry of Health to help double its testing capability to 20,000 a day.
“We have proposed that the Ministry of Health provide Da Nang with additional Real time-PCR test kits using antigens, which greatly improve the accuracy while reducing the time for COVID-19 screening,” said Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho.
As Vietnam’s current COVID-19 hotspot, Da Nang has imposed social distancing since last Tuesday.
