Vietnamese entrant wins first prize at international photo contest

(VOVWORLD) - Local photographer Pham Huy Trung took the first prize in the people category of the Drone Photo Awards as part of the prestigious international competition the Siena Awards 2021.
Vietnamese entrant wins first prize at international photo contest - ảnh 1Trung’s photo themed “Fishing in mangrove forest” depicts a fisherman working in a mangrove forest located in Hue province’s Tam Giang lagoon. An awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at Siena Awards Festival in Siena, Italy, in October.
Vietnamese entrant wins first prize at international photo contest - ảnh 2Additional seven images of Vietnamese photographers are among the finalists of the people category of the Drone Photo Awards. A photo titled “Buddhists are praying” by Khanh Phan is also highly commended at the contest.

Vietnamese entrant wins first prize at international photo contest - ảnh 4Regarding his photo titled “Pray for soul”, Bui Phu Khanh writes: “In the full moon of July, as part of the Vietnamese culture, women put on the traditional costumes called 'Ao Dai' to join the colored lantern and flower-garland releasing festival on the river to pray for happiness and good luck to their families.”
