Vietnam will deliver a warm farewell to visiting friends from around the region at the 90-minute closing ceremony of the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) on Monday evening at Hanoi's My Dinh Indoor Athletics Arena. VOV will broadcast the ceremony live at 8p.m.
Called "Gather to shine", the closing ceremony will be in three parts.
The first part, called "My Hanoi, your love", will deliver a message about the 1,000-year-old capital city of Hanoi, through songs about Hanoi and images of the peaceful life there.
The second part, "Convergence", will begin with a flag ceremony followed by a parade of the 11 sports delegations and the Games’ referees and volunteers.
Highlights of the competitions will be shown.
Then there will be a closing speech by Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Head of the SEA Games 31 organizing board, followed by a ceremony to lower the flag and turn off the flame.
The highlight of the program will be a flag hand-over from the Southeast Asian Games Federation to Cambodia, who will host the next Games in 2023, accompanied by a performance of the Apsara robam, a dance that symbolizes Cambodian culture, soul, and identity.
