The lagoon is located in Phu Loc district, approximately 40km from the centre of Hue city. The majority of locals earn a living by going fishing. The site is also home to Vinh Hien beach which has crystal, clear water, and white sand, and is suitable for going swimming. Local people often go fishing at night. Entire families often go together and boats look like floating homes at night. Cau Hai Lagoon appears most beautiful at sunset. The area seems vastly different at night, with some parts looking very quiet as boats drift on the water. Other places are bustling with fishermen and buyers doing a brisk trade.
