Cat-shaped ceramics in Bat Trang village available ahead of Tet

(VOVWORLD) - With the Lunar New Year holiday (Tet) just over three weeks away, Bat Trang pottery village on the outskirts of Hanoi has created a series of products in the shape of cats as a way of heralding in the Year of the Cat.

Bat Trang pottery villagers are busy preparing products to supply the Tet market ahead of the start of Vietnamese people's largest festival.

Originally formed more than 500 years ago, Bat Trang pottery village has seen plenty of ups and downs. Yet its products are still widely appreciated for their quality with diverse designs, models, and types on offer.

As 2023 is the Year of the Cat, according to the lunar calendar, cat-shaped products are designed to cater to consumer taste. The animal is widely believed to be a symbol of agility, cunning, and intelligence.

Creating such a product requires professional skills from potters. Finished products are both durable and beautiful for customers to enjoy during the year.

With the demand growing at the end of the year, Bat Trang potters are rushing to prepare for the final shipments of the year.

Shop owners receive plenty of orders for ceramic products, particularly as they are often used as special Tet gifts.
