(VOVWORLD) - 300 kilometers northwest of Hanoi, the terraced rice fields of Mu Cang Chai in Yen Bai province are a major tourist attraction. The Mu Cang Chai Terraced Field Festival will open Friday to honor the traditional culture of Vietnam’s northeastern mountains.
The Mu Cang Chai Terraced Field Festival is part of the Muong Lo Tourism-Culture Week, taking place Friday to next Wednesday.
This is a major annual event in Yen Bai province, attracting thousands of visitors.
The Mu Cang Chai Terraced Field Festival features Yen Bai’s local specialties and culture. The event promotes sustainable economic and tourism development.
A highlight of the festival will be the 6th Paragliding Festival themed “Flying over yellow fields”. Paragliders flying over Khau Pha pass will get a bird’s-eye view of vast yellow rice fields flanked by green mountains.
Khau Pha pass, one of the 4 highest passes in Vietnam, provides a panoramic view of Lim Mong valley.
The paragliding festival “Flying over yellow fields” is an annual event hosted by the VietWings Hanoi Paragliding Club since 2013.
