(VOVWORLD) - Thanks to the youthful vigor and their inherent tech-savviness, youth union members and young individuals have emerged as the driving force in mastering and applying technology to various fields. This has yielded tangible outcomes in Vietnam’s economy, political effectiveness, society, security, and defense. The younger generation is actively embracing digital solutions and platforms, enhancing the efficiency of government agencies, ministries, and local administrations.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has embraced digitization by shifting its document management to a digital platform, complete with the adoption of digital signatures. This move has reduced the time civil servants previously spent on document signing, resulting in faster and more efficient information processing. Furthermore, as a pre-meeting practice, all documents are uploaded to the ministry’s network, not only leading to savings on printing costs but also fostering accessibility and eco-friendliness.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Trang, a youth union member of the ministry, said the Ministry of Home Affairs has been using Eoffice software, which allows for submitting documents with digital signatures. Youth union members of the Ministry are proactively involved in researching and suggesting ways to create a digital workspace for civil servants working in internal affairs.

The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion has digitized various activities such as medical examinations, treatments, blood donations, blood transfusions. Le Thang Hang who works at the Institutesaid the Institute has launched a mobile app that shows every time a blood donor logs in, they can track the entire journey of their donated blood unit and receive their test results.

What’s truly impressive is the Institute's ability to mobilize thousands of blood donors within one or two days through targeted media campaigns conducted on the app.

"When we leverage the reach of social networks and receive support from media agencies like Voice of Vietnam and Vietnam Television, our colleagues in the Central and Southern regions find an immediate source of blood donors,” Hang added.

Launched on December 15, 2020, the "Vietnamese Youth" app serves as a valuable platform, delivering precise and up-to-the-minute information to empower young individuals and youth union members with insights into the initiatives undertaken by Union and Association organizations. It plays a pivotal role in advancing the digital transformation of government and society, with active engagement from Youth Union chapters at various levels.

In Hanoi’s districts, the Youth Union has been aiding local residents in navigating online public service procedures. They have undertaken the creation of videos promoting historical monuments and scenic locales, along with establishing QR code scanning points to enhance tourists’ understanding of these sites.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has undertaken numerous initiatives and campaigns to amplify the involvement of youth, young officials, civil servants and public employees in digital transformation.

Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Minh Triet, emphasized that digital transformation is a focus during the 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2022-2027 term.

"We are actively promoting youth involvement in this process. We’ve introduced new initiatives, including launching the Vietnam Youth App and assisting people in transitioning to cashless transactions. We’re also incorporating elements from the police sector to enhance citizen management and support the public. We are guiding young individuals towards digital transformation strategies that align with the unique circumstances of their communities, youth demographics, and local socio-economic conditions," he added.

With all these efforts, the creativity of Vietnamese people in digital transformation has been fully tapped.
