The website dulichhanam.vn was put into operation in 2009 and is one of Ha Nam's successes in applying IT to tourism promotion. In 2018, its smart tourism information portal at visithanam.vn was introduced, using IT and communications to form a tourism ecosystem.
This portal informs about Ha Nam’s history, culture, famous landscapes, tourism activities, and outstanding events, and other smart features like helping tourists book rooms quickly, doing voice searches of locations, answering chatbot queries, providing hotline help, setting up tours and personalized schedules, translating texts, and creating 360-degree images.
The recent combination of these websites, digital platforms, and social networks has improved the efficiency of introducing Ha Nam to domestic and foreign tourists. Ha Nam considers IT and digital transformation a part of its strategy for promoting its image and tourism potential and improving the experience and satisfaction of tourists.

Nguyen Le Phuc, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), said that although Ha Nam is a newly emerging destination, its tourism has enjoyed strong growth. “It plans to strengthen promotion activities in international markets, particularly promotions that use new technologies with TV, movies, and culture to appeal to tourists,” said Phuc.
Ha Nam has increased regional links, communications, and tourism promotion on Facebook, Youtube, and Tiktok and other online platforms and has developed a digital tourism database.
Many tourist attractions now use QR codes, including the President Ho Chi Minh Temple at the Cat Tuong Memorial Area in Binh Luc district, Long Doi Son pagoda in Duy Tien town, the temple of the 10 Lam Ha female martyrs, the Bau pagoda scenic spot in Phu Ly city, the Truc Temple-Ngu Dong Thi Son tourist site, and Ba Danh pagoda in Kim Bang district.
Tourists can get detailed information about the sites they plan to visit by scanning a QR code with their smart device. The Tam Chuc tourist area is using QR codes, e-tickets, and AI tour guides to save visitors time and money. It has designed a website where visitors can find information, buy tickets, and pay for services remotely in either Vietnamese or English.
Visitors have praised the convenience of using QR codes and chip-based citizen identification cards when they come to worship Buddha and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Tam Chuc.

Mai Quoc Dat, Executive Director of the Tam Chuc national tourist area, said, “This system ensures better security and safety at the Tam Chuc tourist area. Integrated technology streamlines procedures for visitors and reduces the time spent waiting in line to buy tickets.”
Traditional craft villages like Nha Xa silk weaving village and Doi Tam drum making village in Duy Tien town, Nhan Hau braised fish village in Ly Nhan, and Do Hai fine art lacquer village in Binh Luc are favored by many tourists who come to explore Ha Nam. In recent years, these craft villages have caught up with the digital technology trend and now promote and sell their products on digital platforms.
According to Nguyen Van Trong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, “The Department has directed specialists to go to craft villages to help artisans build a database and start promoting themselves in cyberspace. Now these villages and their products are becoming known to tourists all over the world.”
Ha Nam hopes to soon achieve its digital transformation goal toward smart tourism and become a prominent spot on the tourism map.
