Pursuant to the provincial plan until 2030, with a vision to 2050, Ninh Thuan will make tourism a spearhead economic sector by 2030 aimed at "Sustainability - High quality - Uniqueness" and contributing 15% of its Gross Regional Domestic Product.
Ninh Thuan wants to be a particularly attractive destination strongly competitive with other Vietnamese provinces. To that end, it has been restructuring its tourism industry towards professionalism, modernity, quality, and sustainability.
Ninh Thuan has prioritized creating unique tourism products that offer visitors unforgettable experiences – high-class, luxurious, beach resorts; Cham cultural heritage tours and other examples of community tourism; high-tech agricultural tours; and eco-tours of the Nui Chua World Biosphere Reserve.
Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that the resolution on Ninh Thuan tourism development distinguishes high-end tourism from popular tourism and calls for large-scale, high-class tourist areas with excellent service quality, professionalism, branding, and competitiveness.
“Ninh Thuan will be an important destination in the central coast tourism chain with a 7-8% increase in visitors per year,” said Nam, adding, “To that end, Ninh Thuan has prioritized three key coastal areas for tourism development in the south, the north, and the central area of Phan Rang-Thap Cham city, part of the Ninh Chu National Tourism Area. Ninh Thuan is also prioritizing the development of 12 new unique tourism products.”

In recent years, Ninh Thuan’s administration and economic sector have invested heavily in tourism infrastructure that meets the needs of domestic and foreign tourists for sightseeing, relaxation, and entertainment.
Ninh Thuan has 56 tourism projects that have been granted investment certificates, with a total registered capital of 2 billion USD. 26 of those projects are already in operation. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, insisted that attracting investment and supporting investors in the tourism sector will make tourism a spearhead economic sector.
“Once our tourism projects are put into operation, they’ll help Ninh Thuan attract more visitors and achieve our goal to make tourism a key economic sector, contributing to the province's overall economic growth,” said Minh.
Ninh Thuan is stepping up cooperation with airlines, cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the central coastal and southeastern provinces, and the central highlands to create attractive tours and routes, and continues to develop traditional international markets, including Russia and Eastern Europe, while aiming at high-end customers and open new markets in Southeast Asia, Australia, Western Europe, and North America with new, unique tourism products.
Ninh Thuan has deployed tourism promotion and investment attraction activities, including conferences to promote tourism development programs with India, South Korea, and China, and events introducing new tourism products, such as windsurfing in Ninh Hai district; visiting Nam Cuong’s sand dunes; tours of high-tech vineyards, apple orchards, and orchid farms in My Nghiep village in Binh Phuoc district; and community tourism in Hon Thien mural village, the Nui Chua eco-tourism area, and the An Hòa sheep farm.

Truong Van Tien, Director of the provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, said, “Recently we’ve worked with investors from India and South Korea who came to survey our tourism development environment, and have participated in tourism promotion programs in China and South Korea to promote our image and development opportunities.”
Tien noted that Ninh Thuan tourism has made great strides, welcoming 3.1 million visitors so far this year – 100,000 of them foreigners – and getting close to our target of 3.2 million visitors.
Thanks to tourism promotion, more and more tourists are learning about Ninh Thuan, “the land of converging values.” Between 2021 and 2023 it received 6.4 million tourists, with an average annual growth rate of 32% and earning 191 million USD. Since the beginning of 2024, Ninh Thuan has received an estimated 3 million visitors, up 20.6% from last year, and earning 137.8 million USD.
Ninh Thuan’s tourism quality is improving in line with the orientation of turning tourism into a spearhead, comprehensive economic sector that drives the development of other fields.
