(VOVWORLD) - The Moc Chau national tourism site in Son La province was honoured as the “World’s Leading Regional Nature Destination” at the 2022 World Travel Awards. Moc Chau has a cool climate all year round and a magnificent natural landscape.

The construction plan for Moc Chau national tourism site until 2030 covers an area of 200,000 ha in Moc Chau and Van Ho district. It’s a primary destination on Vietnam’s northwestern tourism itinerary. The Moc Chau national tourism site contains resorts, eco-tourism centers, and entertainment centers.

Le Trong Binh, Chairman of the Moc Chau district People’s Committee, said: “In order to keep the title of "The world's leading nature destination", Moc Chau district has zoned and preserved its tea and grassland areas and forests. While developing community-based tourism and farm tours, we are encouraging the use of environment-friendly materials and promoting the unique ethnic culture of Moc Chau.”

Moc Chau’s limestone plateau encompasses spectacular natural landscapes, such as the majestic Pha Luong peak, picturesque Dai Yem waterfall, and Doi (bat) cave’s impressive stalactites, and beautiful orchards of peach and plum. Moc Chau attracts tourists with its diverse ethnic cultures.

Maya Lou, a teacher from California, said: "I'm so happy to be here. I came all the way to visit the place. It's beautiful."

In spring an influx of tourists comes to Moc Chau to view the white plum and apricot blossoms. Nguyen Bich Hoa, a tourist, said: “Moc Chau is beautiful and has a cool climate. I love its fresh air. We are having class reunion in Son La, which has a beautiful landscape of mountains and rives.”

Moc Chau has lots of tourism sites and products – Moc Chau Island, a complex of amusement parks and resorts, Bach Long Glass Bridge, Ang pine tree village with lots of entertainment activities, and hospitable community tourism villages. Moc Chau welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors and earned revenues of 73 million USD last year.

Hoang Manh Duy, Sales Manager of Moc Chau Island, said: “In order to keep the title of "World's Leading Natural Destination", Moc Chau Island believes preserving the landscape is a prerequisite. We want to attract not just domestic but also foreign tourists to Moc Chau.”

Moc Chau has enhanced trade promotion to attract investment in high-end tourism projects that exploit the area’s exceptional natural beauty.
