This is the third consecutive year a Vietnamese Prime Minister has been invited to attend and speak at the WEF, showing the WEF and the international business community’s respect for Vietnam’s role and contributions to global sustainable economic growth.

The Prime Minister's visit to China takes place amid the growing relationship between the two countries after 75 years of diplomatic relations.

WEF 2025 - a place to share Vietnam's development vision and experience

WEF Tianjin 2025 is the second-largest event of the World Economic Forum, after its annual gathering in Davos. The forum discusses the group’s vision and long-term solutions to major issues facing the global economy.

This year’s forum will draw 1,700 delegates, including the President of Ecuador, and the Prime Ministers of Singapore, Senegal, and Kyrgyzstan, more than 100 ministerial-level officials, business executives, academics, and innovators.

This year’s forum, themed “Entrepreneurship for a New Era”, focuses on decoding the global economy, navigating new growth trends, transformation of industries, and smart manufacturing.

Prime Minister Chinh will deliver a keynote speech as a special guest of the Policy Dialogue. He will share Vietnam’s strategic growth vision and determination to realize its commitment to fast, sustainable, and inclusive development, and deliver a message aboutVietnam’s efforts to foster an enabling environment for investors through improvements in institutions, infrastructure, financial systems, and human resource development.

The Prime Minister will call for stronger cooperation and investment in breakthrough areas such as artificial intelligence, automation, biotechnology, clean energy, infrastructure development, and financial services.

Strengthening Vietnam-China ties

Prime Minister Chinh’s trip to China follows Chinese Party leader and President Xi Jinping’s successful state visit to Vietnam in April. This exchange of high-level visits reflects a strong momentum and deepening trust in bilateral ties.

The visit takes place as Vietnam and China mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and jointly organize a “Year of Humanistic Exchanges”.

Mr. Feng Junyang, Deputy Head of the Communication Department of the Yunnan provincial Party Committee, said at an event in Yunnan on Sunday to launch a tour of historical sites in Vietnam and China:

“The two countries have long strengthened exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields, including politics, economics, and culture. Our friendship and people-to-people ties are deeply rooted in history and have remained strong over time. By combining the rich natural resources and cultural heritage of Yunnan and Vietnam, and through mutual visits and exchanges, both sides are working to build a cross-border bridge of friendship that breathes new life into the vision of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future," said Feng Juyang.

The celebration of the 2025 Year of Humanistic Exchanges between Vietnam and China reflect the shared understanding of the need to strengthen the solid social foundation for bilateral cooperation as well as the solidarity and close-knit ties between the two nations.

At a Vietnamese-China youth exchange event held in April, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei said: “No matter how the situation in the world evolves, the relationship between our two countries will remain unchanged. China and Vietnam have always viewed each other's development as being in their mutual interest. A stable China-Vietnam relationship lays a solid foundation for both nations to advance in a world full of fluctuations.”

Against this backdrop, Prime Minister Chinh’s working visit to China is expected to further energize bilateral ties, providing an opportunity for the leaders of Vietnam, China, and other countries to explore solutions for fostering new growth drivers and ensuring sustainable, inclusive development amid the current international uncertainties, instabilities, and economic challenges.
