Those eligible for level-2 digital ID accounts include foreigners who hold temporary or permanent residence cards in Vietnam, with their number now estimated at around 100,000.
With aVietnamese digital ID account, a foreigner can access online administrative procedures on the VNeID app, such as visa extensions, temporary residence registration when renting accommodation, and banking transactions, the tasks that previously required time-consuming visits to government offices. To register you just need to bring your passport, residence card, and phone numbers registered in your name to the Immigration Department or to your local Immigration Office.

To make it more convenient, local police have informed them of the schedule, location, and procedures in advance. Facilities, equipment, and personnel have been arranged to reduce waiting time and ensure smooth and swift data entry.
Lieutenant Colonel Truong Thi Dung, Deputy Head of the Immigration Management Office of Dong Nai provincial police, said: “We have arranged sufficient equipment and staff to workon three shifts dailyfrom 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m, even on weekends.”
The number of foreigners living, working, and studying in Vietnam has been increasing. The issuance of digital ID accounts will provide them a more convenient and friendly experience and improve the efficiency of residency management, security, and social order.
