Truong Sa, a voyage of emotions

(VOVWORLD) - May 7th, 2025 marks the 70thanniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Navy. On this occasion, many voyages have been made to the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago to offer encouragement and support from the mainlanders to the naval soldiers who are safeguarding the nation’s sea and islands.

A delegation of 200 people of various ages, professions, and localities, has just recently visited Truong Sa. Le Anh Tuan of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said whoever they are, wherever they come from, they all share the same feeling about the national sea and islands.

“This was my first trip to Truong Sa. I had read a lot about the hardships endured by soldiers and local islanders on Truong Sa archipelago. When I came to visit, I was deeply moved and greatly admired their spirit, perseverance, and determination to overcome difficulties and hardships to safeguard the nation’s territory,” Tuan said.

The passengers aboard Ship 571 to Truong Sa brought love and solidarity from the mainland to the islanders.

70-year-old Nguyen Thi Hong Hai of Hanoi said: “I feel proud and deeply moved to visit the islands. The soldiers endure many hardships to safeguard our national sovereignty.”

Nguyen Nhu Huyen of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission said: “I visited the archipelago not only to encourage the officers and soldiers stationed there but also to reflect on my own responsibility in sharing information on safeguarding national sea and island sovereignty.”

Colonel Nguyen Duy Thieu, Deputy Chief of Technical Logistics of the Navy Command and head of the delegation, said: “Every year the Navy organizes delegations to visit soldiers and civilians on Truong Sa archipelago. We visit multiple islands and offshore platforms, bringing warmth and affection from the mainland to the soldiers and civilians there. We also contribute to the development of the archipelago.”
