The Cinema Department reviewed all 39 episodes of the series and found that the image of the nine-dash line appears on maps in multiple episodes. On July 9, it sent a request to Netflix and FPT Telecom asking them remove the film from their web and mobile versions within 24 hours.

The image of the nine-dash line, as well as dialogue and subtitles in the movie violate Vietnam's national sovereignty and the provisions of Clause 1, Article 9, of the Cinema Law.

Though FPT Telecom blurred the image of the map, the Cinema Department said the movie is not suitable for screening in Vietnam as it contains content that infringes Vietnam’s national sovereignty.

At the request of the Cinema Department, based on Clause 2, Article 15, of Government Decree dated 2022 and certain Articles of the Cinema Law, Netflix removed the series “Flight To You” from netflix.com and the Netflix app, and FPT Telecom removed the film from fptplay.vn and the FPT Play app.
