The forum held by the HCM Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation discussed policies and mechanisms to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Vietnam and ways to improve Vietnam’s innovative startup ecosystem.
Nguyen Hai Minh, Head of the Youth Solidarity Committee of the HCM Communist Youth Union, said: "This year’s Forum promotes entrepreneurship and an environment in which young Vietnamese people can participate in the country’s recovery and development following COVID-19."
The Forum drew 550 young investors and businessmen with innovative startup projects who discussed with leaders of Ministries and sectors specific policies and incentives for young people to start businesses.
Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said: "The Ministry is working closely with the US Agency for International Development to help SMEs in digital transformation. 100 selected SMEs will receive funding, solutions, and consultancy to promote digital transformation by 2025."

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung said centers that provide support and technical assistance for startups have been established at many universities.
Mr. Tung said: "We set up portals to support the development of a national startup ecosystem and a portal to provide information to SMEs. The Vietnam Startup Network has connected investors and investment funds. The Business Market Development Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Department of Business Development Support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment are supporting young startups."
Addressing the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said recommendations made by young Vietnamese people have contributed to improving the investment environment, fine-tuning Vietnam’s innovative startup ecosystem, and encouraging young people to start companies to aid the country’s recovery post-pandemic.
