Themed “Brilliant Galaxy”, this year’s Golden Kite Awards gathers 1,000 delegates including artists, actors, and filmmakers as well as representatives of the Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) and artists from the US, South Korea, and India. The Organizing Board said 140 films have registered for the 2023 Award.

“We have received a large number of entries for all categories. This year marks an innovation in both the organizational method and the scale. We aim to make cinematographic activities more vibrant and attractive to the public,” Do Lenh Hung Tu, President of the Vietnam Cinema Association, said.

This year’s event will include discussions on how to resolve difficulties facing the cinema industry and film screenings along the Nha Trang coast. There will also be cultural and culinary spaces for people to learn about the production of movies, TV programs, documentaries, and reports.

Marking the 20th anniversary of the Award, a Wall of Fame has been set up at the Do Theater in Nha Trang to honor award winning works and individuals and those who have made outstanding contributions to Vietnamese cinema. On the Wall there are 433 stars representing 107 works and 297 outstanding individuals, including authors, artists, filmmakers, and 29 cinematographers.
