More than 400 delegates, including Ambassadors and representatives from international organizations and foreign NGOs in Vietnam visited the historical and cultural sites, planted trees, and engaged in traditional crafts like making flowers, cakes, and lotus tea.
Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism said the program provided the guests with memorable experiences of Hanoi’s unique cultural values and warm hospitality, while also opening doors for future cooperation with Me Linh district.
Hieu said: “Delegates participated in local cultural activities and experienced regional cuisine and products. Through the trip, Hanoi presents itself to international friends as an inviting and dynamic capital.”
Nguyen Ngoc Ky, Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, said the program served as a platform for cultural exchanges, deepening mutual understanding between Vietnam and the global community. It helped strengthen people-to-people diplomacy, promote socio-economic development, and align with Hanoi’s vision of becoming a ‘Cultural – Civilized – Modern’ capital, a ‘Heroic Capital,’ a ‘City for Peace,’ and a ‘Creative City.’
Lao Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavan said it was her first visit to the Hai Ba Trung Temple, a site that commemorates Vietnam’s heroic past. She said the images of the national heroines Trung Trac and Trung Nhi will forever symbolize patriotism and the unyielding spirit of Vietnamese women.
