Film week celebrates President Ho Chi Minh’s 135th birth anniversary

(VOVWORLD) - A film week celebrating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025) is taking place in Nghe An province. Organized by the Department of Cinema in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An and other relevant agencies, the event honors and commemorates President Ho Chi Minh’s immense contributions to the Vietnamese revolution.

The program features a selection of both feature films and documentaries, including “Sketches from the Heart” produced by the People's Army Cinema, “Moon of Childhood” by the Liberation Film Joint Stock Company, and “Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano” by the Feature Film Joint Stock Company I. These films offer deep insights into President Ho Chi Minh’s life, ideology, ethics, and personal style, inspire fine humanitarian values, and promote the movement of following his moral example and lifestyle.

As part of the Film Week, an exchange program is being held with artists and film crews at the 414th Engineering Brigade of Military Region IV, and with residents of Nam Dan district. Participating artists will offer incense at the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, and lay wreaths at the President Ho Chi Minh Statue at Ho Chi Minh Square in Vinh city.

The Film Week is part of the celebration of the 2025 National Sen Village Festival. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, said: “The Sen Village Festival and the inauguration of the President Ho Chi Minh Statue returning to his hometown are landmark events for Nghe An. We are making a concerted effort to ensure the success of these commemorative activities, with the aim of encouraging nationwide and international participation.”

The film week is also an occasion to showcase Nghe An, the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, to audiences across the country and around the world.
