Enterprises operating in industrial parks in Hung Yen province took preventive measures against the coronavirus immediately after the Lunar New Year. On their first day back at work, all workers had their temperature checked and were instructed to take certain precautions.
In Da Nang city, 550 enterprises in 6 industrial zones have nearly all resumed operation. Every day they check each worker’s temperature and require them to wear a face mask while working and wash their hands frequently.
Dong Xuan Thanh, a worker at the Tuyen Quang Iron and Steel Company, said: “We have to check our temperature when we enter or leave the factory every day. We wear masks during work.”
Enterprises have had to adjust business and production plans because of the coronavirus epidemic. The Ho Chi Minh City Garments and Textiles Association said some enterprises have switched to domestic material suppliers instead of importing materials from China.
Pham Xuan Hong, Chairman of the Association, believed things will get better after March. He said: “Enterprises have changed their production plans and are sharing supply resources to get through the next couple of months.”
