Bauhinia flowers symbolize purity and fidelity and love. They are the iconic flower of Dien Bien and Vietnam’s northwestern region. The Ban Flower Festival will begin on Wednesday in Dien Bien Phu city, which also opens National Tourism Year – Dien Bien Phu, with the theme "Return to the Bauhinia region".

Vo Thi To Nhu, a tourist from Da Nang city, said: “The bauhinia flowers of Dien Bien are beautiful, pure white with a little pink. I love to take photos with the flowers.”

Bauhinia flowers blossom along the roads and at all the historical relic sites, such as Hill D1, Hill A1, and Hill E. Ban Flower Festival attracts a lot of visitors every spring.

Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy from Quang Nam province said: “This is the second time I’ve come to Dien Bien. I also came here last year during the bauhinia season. I took a lot of photos of the beautiful flowers because I love them.”

The Ban Flower Festival has been held annually since 2014 and has become a tourism brand of Dien Bien province.
