The shipment contained 18,000 packs of roasted coffee that was grown, processed, and packaged in Vietnam. The coffee was fermented to meet US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards, and the beans were grown in accordance with European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) certification. Managed by Simexco Dak Lak – MISS EDE's strategic partner and export trustee – the shipment will be distributed to supermarkets in Illinois.

Luu Van Khoi, Director of the Dak Lak provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said: “This is a big opportunity, one that comes with challenges. I hope Vietnamese brands will showcase the character of the Vietnamese people and the commitment of Vietnamese coffee growers to producing good value products.”

Agricultural exports have been Dak Lak’s strengths in recent years, earning an average of 1 billion USD per year. Coffee is the province's traditional staple product.

Nguyen Van Ha, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the province has implemented multiple projects and solutions to improve coffee quality and productivity.

“We advise people not to harvest green beans, to ensure ripeness, and pay close attention to post-harvest processing, to ensure quality. We connect export companies with cooperatives and farmers to make sure harvested products are processed and refined for export,” said Ha.

In addition to investing in production, Dak Lak province has increased trade promotion and worked hard to expand markets.
