Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Vo Van Thuong speaks to doctors at Huu Nghi hospital

At a ceremony to mark the 62nd anniversary of Vietnam Physicians’ Day at Huu Nghi hospital, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Vo Van Thuong praised the improved professionalism and quality of health services. He said these achievements have increased the hospital’s prestige and solidified the public trust. Mr. Thuong said: “The hospital needs to further develop to meet the needs of the Party, State, and the public. Doctors and physicians need to make further efforts to meet the demands of patients.”

Doctor Nguyen Tuong Van, Director of Da Nang Hospital C, says there are opportunities for medical workers but challenges are also numerous. Hospitals need to improve their services to gain trust from patients: “In the near future, the health sector will focus on both public and private hospitals. That’s good but it will require each health worker and hospital to increase their quality to raise their prestige and gain patients’ trust.”

Being patient-centered, hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City have strengthened their quality. 23 satellite health stations have been set up to reduce overload at central hospitals.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien urged health workers to continue to improve their services.
