These days, the playground in residential area 8, Ha An ward, Quang Ninh province, rings with children's laughter. The Youth Union of Ha An ward in collaboration with a number of local organizations have upgraded the playground.

To enhance the fun and ensure the safety of the children, Youth Union members are on duty to supervise the children’s play. Swings, seesaws, and colorful chairs with animal shapes have been made from recycled, environmental-friendly materials.

Pham Van Hung, a local child said: “We have a lot of fun playing here. I love playing on the swing with my friends.”

“In the afternoon, I often invite neighborhood friends to play on the swing with me. The toys here are beautiful. I really like them.” said Nguyen Quynh Nhu.

Playgrounds have been built in many residential areas in Quang Ninh province to give children fun, entertaining activities, away from electronic devices during their summer vacation.

We have also organized activities to ensure the safety of children during these summer activities. We plan to set up online mock trial on social evils and programs on traffic safety to give children useful information.”

The Quang Tri provincial Youth Union and the Young Pioneers Association have cooperated with schools, local authorities, families, departments, and social organizations to organize activities to prevent child accidents, injuries and drowning including free swimming classes and free life jackets for children in disadvantaged areas.

Le Van Phong, Secretary of the Youth Union of Hai Lang district, said: "The district’s Youth Union intends to hold 12 free swimming classes for children and 1 class for children with mild disabilities. We consider this one of our main activities in the Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign and the Peak Month of Action for Children 2023."
