(VOVWORLD) - Son La province is finalizing preparations for the upcoming election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 term that will ensure voters' rights and civic responsibilities.

All voter cards have been distributed and voters have been notified of the time and place to cast their ballots. Le Thuy Duyen, a resident in group 9, Quyet Thang, To Hieu ward, said, "I'm happy and excited to have received my voter card. Being able to elect someone to represent us means a lot to me. My family and I will definitely vote and fulfill our responsibility as citizens. We hope the deputies we elect will be dedicated, ethical, and responsible and will care for people in remote areas like Son La, improve our livelihoods, and promote our socio-economic development."

Lists of voters and candidates have been posted at local cultural houses and schools where voting will take place. Ballot boxes and other election equipment have been on standby, and measures are in place to ensure public security on election day.

Nguyen Van Hung, the Party cell Secretary of Song Ma commune, said, “Our voters are very eager and excited to cast their ballots on March 15."

Song Ma commune has done everything needed for the election. Hoang Van Thuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Song Ma People's Committee, and a candidate for the local People's Council, said, “Being nominated as a candidate is both an honor and a challenge for me as a cadre, Party member, and citizen. Regardless of whether I’m elected or not, I’ll do my best to contribute to national development."

National flags, banners, and slogans have been hung along the main roads, in residential areas, and in villages across Son La province ahead of election day.
