President Erdoğan called for an end to actions targeting Islamic countries in the region and reaffirmed Ankara’s opposition to any unlawful interference in Iran’s internal affairs.
On the same day, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said in a television interview that China, Russia, France and several other countries had contacted Iran regarding efforts to end the conflict or reach a ceasefire agreement. However, he emphasized that any potential deal must include guarantees that acts of aggression against Iran will not be repeated.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said negotiations with the United States are currently not on Iran’s agenda, adding it is still too early for Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, to comment on possible talks with Washington.
Responding to US President Donald Trump’s remarks suggesting that the conflict with Iran could soon end, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that it would be the force determining when the war ends, adding that “the equations and the future situation of the region are in the hands of Iran’s armed forces.”
