At Monday’s working meeting with a delegation led by National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong to inspect and supervise local preparations, the provincial Election Committee reported that it had received 23 candidate dossiers running for the 16th National Assembly and 173 candidate dossiers for the provincial People’s Council for the 2026–2031 term.

Mr. Phuong urged Ca Mau to step up communications, ensure security and order, and encourage voters to participate fully and correctly in the election process. The locality must create the most favorable conditions for voters to exercise their rights and obligations, especially fishermen engaged in offshore fishing, by using appropriate communication and outreach measures, Mr. Phuong said.

Special attention should also be given to ethnic minorities, people in disadvantaged areas, the elderly living alone, and people with disabilities to ensure they are able to cast their votes, he added.

On Sunday, NA Vice Chairman Phuong inspected and supervised election preparations in Dat Mui commune, met with the commune’s Election Committee, and visited several electoral units and polling stations in the area.
