At the event, delegates presented overviews of Vietnam’s sea-related policies and laws and Vietnam’s maritime economic development, and other issues concerning prevention and control of marine pollution. The two sides also discussed Japan’s blue economy, policies to promote offshore wind power, and experience in preventing, and dealing with marine pollution and protecting its marine ecosystems.
High on the agenda were also the orientation for cooperation between the two sides by 2025 with a vision towards 2030.
This is an important event to realize a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation for ocean policy between the MoNRE and the Japanese Cabinet Office, which was signed on October 8, 2018.
