Participants were provided with more information about sovereign rights, sovereignty over the sea and islands of the Fatherland as well as the value of the sea and islands in economic development associated with national defense and security at sea. The Naval Academy hopes that overseas Vietnamese youth will spread information and love for the sea and islands as well as Vietnam's responsibility for the international community in preserving a peaceful and stable environment and maritime stability.
According to Pham Thi Kim Hoa, Director of the Department of Cultural Information at the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, participants are keen on the situation of their homeland's sea and islands. Every year, the Committee organizes trips for overseas Vietnamese to visit troops and people in Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province. Overseas Vietnamese have raised funds for Navy Region 3 and Navy Region 4 as well as sponsored and helped about 30 children of Vietnamese Navy soldiers, Hoa added.
