More than 8.5 million domestic and foreign arrivals were reported, and revenue from tourism totaled 720 million USD, exceeding the plan by 34.5%, said Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan on Monday at the 20th session of the 10th People’s Council of Kien Giang.
In 2024, Kien Giang is aiming for a breakthrough in tourism, and plans to open a sea route to Cambodia and Thailand to develop its marine economy and tourism. It will also develop a fleet of ships to connect the mainland with Vietnam’s island districts.
