The Kien Giang Border Guard has regularly provided consultancy to the local administration on combining fishing, aquaculture and protection of aquatic resources and persuading boat owners not to violate foreign waters.

Greater efforts will be made to manage people and fishing boats leaving and entering the port and fishing at sea to ensure that all offshore fishing vessels have the documents and technical equipment required by regulations.

The Kien Giang Border Guard has worked closely with the naval force, coast guard, and the Fisheries Resources Surveillance to track and monitor fishing vessels' activities to promptly prevent IUU fishing violations.
